Screen-printed poster exhibitions, film screenings, photography showcases, interactive performance art and more...
Screenadelica is a hugely successful gig poster exhibition that in the past year has toured and exhibited across England, Europe and beyond. It's essentially a 'pop up' gallery celebrating the art of the screen printed gig poster. Exhibiting the work of leading UK and international artists from the gig-poster 'scene', we host a wide variety of styles promoting the bands that the artists love, inspired by the music they hear.
As part of Liverpool Sound City’s expanding arts programme, we’re extending our film festival for Sound City 2013. We’ve always shown films as part of the festival - art and popular culture are at the heart of what we do. Over the years we’ve screened films, shorts and music videos in a variety of venues such as FACT, Camp & Furnace and Tabac.
In 2012 we partnered with Umbro to bring international football film festival Kicking + Screening to Liverpool from New York to run alongside the John Peel World Cup - our 5-a-side tournament on Chavasse Park in Liverpool ONE.
Photography has forever been inextricably linked to popular music, an intertwined double helix with each distinct art form profoundly enhancing the other. Photographers provide us with the iconic imagery that defines a genre, scene or figure whilst music facilitates this relationship by providing the soundtrack to our imagination. We are all as David Bowie once so intuitively stated, "waiting for the gift of sound and vision".
We’re joining forces with FACT to find the most exciting and budding directors in the North West to submit storyboard and film ideas for a video to accompany a song by celebrated Liverpool band Outfit.
