This year we had over 50 special parties from international parties from far flung places such as Brazil, Australia and Canada showing off the very best new talent emerging from around the world . On top of this we had Label showcases from some of the UK’s finest indie labels Bella Union(Fleet Foxes), Moshi Moshi (Bloc Party Hot Chip), Young Turks ( The XX). These went down an absolute treat.

Along with the parties we had our mini-season of film screenings including the World Premiere of Powder from the creator's of Awaydays. Starring Liam Boyle (Awaydays), Alfie Allen (Game Of Thrones, Soulboy) and filmed at major rock festivals in the U.K, Ibiza and Spain, Powder is a thrilling, hilarious, filthy and fascinating rock ‘n roll parable. It is also a serious examination of the nature of genius. We were very proud to play host to the debut of such an exciting film.

Screendelica returned for its second year at the festival with an exhibition showing off the UK's finest illustrators and artists in the Old Cream Shop on Dale Street. Some said this was the hidden gem of the festival; playing host to some of the best live performances alongside some great pieces of art.

Last, but by no means least we had the John Peel World Cup where 8 teams slogged it out for football supremacy. It was a hard fought contest. In the end the boys from Delta Sonic were crowned the 2011 John Peel World Cup champions after meeting team Bido Lito! in the final. The event raised over £450 for heart treatment charities which was a great achievement. In 2012 we hope Delta Sonic will return to defend their title.
